SIMON MA
Simon Ma was born in Hong Kong in 1974.
He spent his childhood learning the art of traditional Chinese painting. At the age of 7 he started to paint under the guidance of Master Fan Tzu Teng, one of the top 50 art maestro’s in China.
Simon moved to London and started experimenting with western art and design. After obtaining his Masters degree in London, Simon headed for Shanghai to chase his dream and founded his own company.
Through these years, he has cooperated successfully as an artistic designer with various major international automotive brands. He has created a bridge between the East and the West with his art and design in Italy. His last cooperation with Italian manufactures is meant to promote the new idea of designed by Simon Ma in China, and made in Italy (some example: Bulgari and Ferrari).
On January 13th, 2014, Simon Ma’s Ink Brush Heart, part of la Biennale di Venezia’s 55th International Art Exhibition, opened at the prestigious Three on the Bund in Shanghai.
Utilizing different materials, Simon Ma’s installation is composed of stainless steel “Dancing Water Drops” as well as dozens of differently sized balloon water drops filled with varying colors of liquid.
