On October 14, 2024, the celebratory event for the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the China-Italy Strategic Partnership was held at the Salone d’Onore of the Milan Triennale.
The “Distant but Close” event was organized by China Media Group, China’s leading state-owned media company, in conjunction with the visit to Italy of its Vice President, Dr. Xing Bo.
Xing Bo took the opportunity to reiterate the importance of this historic partnership, which is based on centuries of cooperation and cultural and commercial exchanges.
Institutional members attending the meeting included the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Milan, Dr. Liu Kan, and Tourism Minister Daniela Santanché, who remarked on Italy’s willingness to work together to strengthen and boost the increasingly fruitful and friendly relations between the two countries.
The Istituto Italo Cinese, which has been engaged since 1971 in building bridges of friendship and promoting cultural exchanges between Italy and China, enthusiastically accepted the invitation: President Maria Rosa Azzolina and some members of the steering committee were present at the event.
Furthermore, during the evening, new collaborations in the media and culture sector planned on television or online platforms were presented. In particular, the two co-productions “Cargo” and “Discovering China,” the result of partnerships between the Italian Class Editori Group and China Media Group, were launched.
