On January 30, 2025, at about 1 p.m., Milan’s Piazza della Scala was enlivened by a short musical performance by some of the musicians, all honored with the prestigious Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music, of the orchestra that had arrived in Milan from Beijing especially for the official Chinese New Year concert the previous evening (January 29, Milan’s Teatro Carcano).
They performed typical Chinese New Year songs with traditional instruments, such as the “erhu” and the “suona,” transporting the citizens present in the square to distant atmospheres and times.
The musicians with this flash mob offered a taste of their music to the citizens of Milan, who in a few minutes gathered curiously around the artists!
The cctv was there, and included the flahsmob within its report dedicated to Spring Festival celebrations around the world: at the end is the interview with those present during the flash mob, which you can watch here.
